Anne Jaubertie and Cyrille Abonnel founded the company FIAT NUX in late 2016 to save the family business and reinvent it, aligned with Bordeaux (the capital of their home region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine) and the region’s land.
Until 2009, their parents bred pigs and the ‘suckled’ veal typical of Limousin as well as growing Périgord walnuts under the PDO.
Anne and Cyrille opted for the promising materials of walnuts and oil. They acquired a one-hundred-year-old walnut oil mill and restored it over the course of five years, safeguarding and showcasing the traditional expertise typical of south-western gastronomy.
It is this precious golden nectar that La Vie Contée produces .
In 2018, the ‘Moulin de la Vie Contée’ mill invites you to watch the pressing process in its typical late-19th-century stone barn (the ‘golden age’ of Corrèze farming), or to wander through its orchards with their unique views of the chateau forming part of the old Viscounty of Turenne, the last to join the kingdom of France in 1738.
